Location: Napa Valley 2022
A hot summer meant early harvest. After 22 months in new and used French oak barrels, the vintage was finally ready. A strong yet elegant blend, with structure and beautiful, supple fruit. Notes of currant, blackberry, and dried plum dance with chocolate. Approachable and delicious right now, Season One will age for many happy reruns over the next decade and beyond. Enjoy!

Grace grew up splitting her time between Los Angeles and the North Fork of Long Island. Situated two hours outside of Manhattan, the North Fork is home to over thirty wineries and sprawling vineyards. It was through time spent at these wineries that Grace started appreciating wine in all its forms.
Her passion for wine is twofold. On the one hand, she is drawn to the history that lives within each bottle. In her opinion, exploring different time periods and regions through a glass of wine is such a special way to experience other cultures and places. She is also drawn to wine’s ability to bring people together. Sharing a bottle of wine promotes the gathering of old friends and long conversations. These are just some of the reasons why Grace is committed to serving as the liaison between The Gurin Wines brand and happy clients.
In 1996, Patrick Saboe was reshaping the Charleston, SC restaurant scene at nationally lauded Slightly North of Broad, when a honeymoon to California’s wine country changed his life. Patrick traded server tools for winemaking textbooks by enrolling in the Enology & Viticulture program at U.C. Davis.
While attending U.C. Davis, Patrick worked at Robert Sinskey Vineyards and assisted Dr. Andy Walker in the Pierce’s Disease Resistance Rootstock Breeding Program. Upon graduation, he became Harvest Enologist for Hanna Winery before becoming the Assistant Winemaker at Keller Estate. Here, Patrick gained valuable experience working closely with renowned winemaker, Michael McNeill (Hanzell), to produce multiple award-winning wines. In 2006, he became Winemaker and Vineyard Manager for Petroni Vineyards as well as then began to thrive as Consulting Winemaker for numerous ultra-premium brands in Napa and Sonoma, until he was placed as the Director of Winemaking at The Wine Foundry since 2012 and currently Foundry Wines and their sister brand, Anarchist Wine Co.
Patrick’s winemaking philosophy is simple: exceptional wines are made from exceptional fruit with exceptional care. Consequently, he collaborates closely with the numerous growers who partner with Foundry, ensuring that quality is paramount. When not tending to the Foundry wines, Patrick spends time with his wife Dawn and three children Maddy, Claire and Jackson in Petaluma.
Phil loves everything wine, especially California wine. He began working his first custom crush in 2010, and never looked back. In 2013 he began collaborating with winemaker Patrick Saboe on a variety of terroir specific West Coast specialties: Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa and Central Coast Syrah and Rhone-style blends, Sonoma County Chardonnay, and his very special Clarksburg Rosé. In 2021 he launched The Gurin Wines to share his passion and palate with fans of great wines from great sources, made with care and quality.
In his other life, Phil is an award-winning television producer/creator/writer. He has produced thousands of hours of shows, and his work has appeared in over 185 countries around the world.
But it’s wine time now, friends!
